Good morning all you lovely lookers! Today is Day 12, of “31 day’s of Halloween by Smeared and Smudged!”

Today’s project is framed art, I did put this in a frame but the glare, makes not for a good photo. I really like how this looks in a frame though!!

What I wanted to do here was alter a cutesy stamp, and make is not so cutesy. Well, to see if I could, I was talking w/ Tracey M. The owner and artist of The Stamping Boutique and she said she would love it if someone altered one of her images, so this is what I came up w/. Hope you like as much as I do. To see the original stamp  “The Candy Store” click the link.

Okay so the main image is a digital stamp from The Stamping Boutique called “The Candy Store.”

The skulls are  from Smeared Ink, called “Calaveras Sugar Skull 1”

The “Happy Halloween” is from K& Company’s Halloween paper pack, I cut it out. I don’t remember where I got my skeleton paper but I used my Stampin’ Up Bat punch & cut out 3 Bats, & popped them up.  I like how it looks w/ the skeletons. Spider, swirl, & eyes are stickers. For the sign I printed out the words “House of Skulls” cut out & placed over the original words. I used “Core Dimensions” CS w/ my “Brick” embossing folder, then sanded it to bring out the core color. Colored the store w/ Prismacolor colored pencils. Colored the bows w/ a Glitter Copic marker. Used silver Stickles on the Happy Halloween sign and web string.

I would also like to enter this into Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Challenge: Halloween/Goth

  1. Kristy you did a superb job of altering that image. Wow it started out so cute and you certainly creeped it out! I would love to visit your skull shop!

  2. I did go look at the original image and love how you have kept the sweet (sugar skulls) and turned out the lights. Your imagery is quite unusual in that you depict word play so beautifully. Another lovely creation!
