Dylusions Birthday Tag

Good morning,

I would like to share with you a Tag that I made for my friend’s birthday. I thought a tag would be a fun change to a birthday card.

I would like to enter my tag in to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge “Something Feminine.”

To create this tag I started off with using Dylusions paints in the colors: London Blue, Campso Teal, and Vibrant Turquoise. I sponged these 3 colors, then I used a Large Dylusions stencil with the colors: Lemon Zest, and Peony Blush. I used the numbers from the stencil and put it in the center of the tag, which I ended up covering. I should not have done that but oh well now.

I stamped the Cat head from The Fancy Four and the Dress and Bow from Couture Collection, onto X-Press It paper and colored it with Copic Sketch markers.

For the Butterfly wings from Flight of Fancy clear, I had a piece of Brea Reese yupo paper that I did using Brea Rsese Alcohol Inks. I was curious about the colors and her paper. In my personal opinion… I do not like the inks nor do I like that paper, it does not work like the TH Alcohol inks. I will not purchase again. However, I like this piece I did and used for her wings. Here is a photo of that paper: brea-reese

I stamped the banner from Bags of Bunting, onto a piece of TH Glossy CS that I used TH Alcohol Inks on. th-a-ink

The mushrooms at the bottom are from Toadstool Town, so is that cute bee at the top. I stamped the shrooms onto a piece of TH Glossy CS that I used TH Alcohol Inks on, then detail cut each one out. Here is what that piece of paper looked like: th-ink  I stamped the toadstool’s using some green Dylusions ink onto the tag, then added the cut out ones on top with foam squares.  The sentiment is from an old FSJ stamp set.

Here are some photos of my supplies used:

Thank you for your visit and your comments. I personally had a fun time creating this crazy tag. I hope my friend likes it.

Stay crafty my friends.

Art Journal Page

I have an art journal page to share with you all. This page was inspired by Frida Kahlo’s diary page. In Jane Davenport’s Facebook group she is doing #FridaUARY all month long. It is prompts inspired by Frida Kahlo. The name of this prompt was simply “Frida’s Diary.”  So I googled those words and found a page that inspired me to paint and color this page:

This is in my Jane Davenport art journal book.  6x9 The cover is also by JD.

I first painted the page with JD Match Maker acrylic paint found at SSS here.

Then I stamped the faces from JD-049 found at SSS here.

I used the Ultimate Pens in the colors: Aquadisiac, Made in the Suede, Thriller Jacket, & Daisy Dukes. I also used JD’s “Magic Wand” coloring pencils found at SSS here.

For the cheeks and eye shadows I used Birthday Suit and Mineral Eyes.

The tiny faces are from JD’s “Tin of Friends” found at SSS here.

Here is the page I took inspiration from:

323739 Frida Kahlo’s diary page.

All of these faces look like her husband Diego to me. Did you spot my one different Frida face on my page?

I would like to enter my Art Journal page onto Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog Wednesday Challenge:  for the “Anything Goes,”  challenge.

Thank you for stopping by and thank you for your comments.

Birthday Song

Good evening crafty friends,

I have a birthday card to share with you all tonight. Tomorrow is my friend’s birthday and being inspired by “Simon Say’s Stamp blog” Monday’s challenge “Inspired by Music” I created this card:

I cut out printed paper by DCWV, and some glitter paper with Dotted Sizzix  dies.

I cut the branch from my Starbucks coffee wrapper with the Tim Holtz “Branch Tree” thick die.

The bird was stamped onto X-Press It blending card, and colored with Copic markers.

I used Jane Davenports Blue Marlin Squid ink.

Thank you for stopping by, and thank you for your comments.

Stay crafty!

Come and share your crafts with me in my Facebook group!

Jane Davenport Fridauary 2020

Good afternoon crafty friends,

I follow Jane Davenport, mostly on Facebook; and this month’s prompts are on the artist/ activist Frida Kahlo. So February is called “Fridauary,” cute name right! Here is her list of prompts:

84350254_10158091171444579_3990830031726182400_o  I have prompt #1 and #3 to share with you today.

Here is Prompt #1 Frida Kahlo (side note I think Jane Davenport had the koala she rescued in mind for prompt one, here is her story on that: click me.) I am not sure, but here is MY interpretation on the prompts:

I used Jane Davenport’s Face Charts called: “I came, I saw, I contoured.” I colored the face with her “Magic Wand pencils.” The flowers were stamped w/ “Build-A-Bouquet,”and colored with Copic Sketch markers.

As another side note: I absolutely LOVE these colored pencils!! I have 3 other allegedly high quality brands, and I really hate using them. My hand fatigue easily using them. I can not get them to blend either. My coloring always turns out awful. HOWEVER, these Magic Wand pencils are creamy, dreamy, and they blend. I am not saying I am great at coloring, by any means, and you might not even like my coloring of my Frida version. But, I do, and I enjoyed the process. (First time trying, w/ practice I’ll get better.)

Prompt #3 “La Casa Azul”

For this prompt, I had this page with blue paint on it already, in my JD Art Journal Book. It was a roll off of my brayer, when I mixed JD paints on my Geli Plate for a card.

I went to youtube and watched a few of the home tours to get familiar with this prompt. I found this photo on the web and it inspired me to paint this portion of Frida’s house.

I first drew in my image before I colored it: RDMFK

I used JD’s acrylic paints and her pens to finish it off:

suppliesmfk I used a rubber stamp from Dylusions stamped in the green acrylic paint, for the leaves from the tree.

Drawing and painting in this manner is out of my comfort zone, however I love learning and growing  with in myself, in my art.

I used Jane Davenport’s washi tape to “tip in” my face chart.  *Tip in, is a term used when adding in pages, pictures, papers, etc…. to a journal, bible, etc..

Thank you for stopping by, If you left me a comment, Thank you!!

You can come visit me and share your art with us, on my Facebook group “Kristy’s Bloomin’ Journey.”

Have a crafty day!

Love is in the Air with Dylusions products

Good evening friends,

I created a page in my Large Dylusions Journal Book, last night, and wanted to share with you today. I have titled this page “Love is in the Air.” Yesterday, was Valentine’s Day for the USA. Whatever that means you?? To me it’s a day that companies try to make money off of people. But, it keeps the economy going right! Well I wanted to play in my journal book last night and this is what happened…

I sat down last night with the intent to use these Sun Flowers. I fussy cut these flowers from a free publication called “Senior Scene.” They have really pretty covers, and the artist’s are Senior’s that are featured in the magazines. As I flipped through my large Dylusions book, all of my pages have been covered, some are complete, and some are calling to be finished; I felt like this page was calling out to me. This one would be great for me to use for my Sun Flowers.

The background started off as a Geli Plate pull that didn’t turn out that great. I got a new stencil and was trying it out. The stencil is by TWC Dolphins. Here is what it looks like, I have my dolphins facing to the right.

Image result for stencil with dolphins

On a separate occasion I was using my “Spring Bloom” stencil with “Crushed Grape” paint. Inst that what our journal books are for? To experiment in!

I stamped some sticker paper with the Dylusions’ stamp set’s: “Further Round the Edge” in red rubber. The stamp on the left side of the page is: “Anatomy of a Page” -clear.

The tiny cats and birds are from the clear stamp set “Cat Among the Pigeons.” The cats were stamped on light blue and light pink card stock. The birds were stamped on printed card stock. Their quotes are from printed paper that I fussy cut out. It’s paper that I used to make my grand-daughter a Valentine’s card from. It had all these cute little quote bubbles all over it.

The snake was stamped onto printed card stock and stamped again on Kraft card stock. It’s from the set called, “Mischievous Malcom.” The owl is from “Heads N Tails” -Clear, stamped on brown card stock. The butterfly was stamped on some left over Valentine printed paper, it’ from the clear set “Flight of Fancy.” I stamped a stem from the set called “Everything’s Rosy,” onto green card stock.

Using the red rubber stamp set “Further Round the Edge.” I stamped onto 2 different shades of green card stock. Cut the words “Love is in the Air,” from magazines.

After I did this page, I kept playing and did this one too, I will most likely add to it later.

The back ground on this one is 2 Geli Pulls that didnt turn out too good. If you look close you can see teal flowers peaking through the yellow and bits from the other stamps in that set. Set called: “Background Love.”

Here is a list of the stamps used on this page: “Mischievous Malcom.” “Further Round the Edge.” “These Boots are Made.” “Right Up your Street.” “Doodle Parts.” “Bits of This.”  And the dog is from Tim Holtz “Crazy Dogs.”

List of paints used: Calypso Teal, Lemon Zest, Pomegranate Seed.

Melted Chocolate Dylusions Spray ink, used on the Tree. Colored the dog, the girl, face, & head images, with Copic Sketch markers on X-Press IT blending card stock. The mushrooms and flower were colored with Dylusions Paint Pens. This page is the Left side to top page. I added a piece of wide washi-tape, (it’s the black & white fruit on the right side of the page,) because the pages were separating due to getting wet with spray inks on other pages.

This page came together quite quickly, almost all of the images were already colored. I only colored the: Arrow, house, and monster last night.

I think it needs something? I just don’t know what I want to add just yet? Do you have any suggestions?? Let me know.

Thank you for your visit today. I love comments. You can also visit my Facebook group click here!

Valentine’s Day cards 2020

Good afternoon crafty friends,

I would like to share with you all some Valentine’s Day card I made using the “Sizzix Framelits Dies by Stephanie Barnard – 118048” and RG Avenue stamps.

For this card I used the RG Avenue stamp set called “Sweet Love.”

I used Copic Sketch markers to color my image. Then with a piece of old towel I sprayed some 91% alcohol onto it and mushed it to onto my bear. Going for the molted, fluffy look.

My cardstock and printed paper is from a friend’s stash. She has passed away, and her husband is selling off her craft supplies to donate to Hospice in NC.

Added some Nuvo dots. The top left corner cut-out if from Crafter’s Companion. The card has been cut using the “Sizzix Framelits Dies” it comes with extra heart dies, and that Love you cut out, and that swirl under the bear’s foot. It does not come with a separate cut out for the panels of patterned paper I added to the side. I used the die as a template and traced onto the paper where I would cut it to create that shape and size for the extra panels of printed paper. I used Spelbinders heart dies behind the bear.

Using the same die and same RG Ave stamp set Sweet Love, and paper from my friend Pat Jayne. I also colored this bear w/ Copics and used terry cloth to create a fluffy texture on the bear. I added gold wire to the bouquet of flowers. Rhinestone stickers from Bo Bunny on the center heart, on the left. Nuvo drops. I used Spelbinders heart dies behind the bear.

Using that same side step card die. The robot is stamped using Memento black ink, colored w/ Copic Sketch markers. RG Ave stamp called “Beep Bots.” Nuvo dots.

The circle star cut out if from Close to my Heart,” called “Shaker Window & Confetti.” #Z4309. I cut it out using white card stock, then I Silver embossed it. I also silver embossed the 3 hearts on the right side. My idea for the circle there was to represent the moon.

For the background I Clear embossed the RG AVE stamp “CyberSpace” stamp. Then I used the RG AVE ink Sour Crush to sponge all over it.

I did the same thing here, Silver embossing powder on white for the moon. Clear embossing powder with the “CyberSpace” stamp, then I sponged on pinks, yellows, and oranges. Colored the Robot from RG Ave stamp “Beep Bots,” with Copics. I used Stickles.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed my Valentine’s Day cards. I love comments.

Stay crafty my friends,

Art Journal pages with Jane Davenport supplies.

Good morning creative friends,

I would like to share some pages that I created in my 6 x 9″ Jane Davenport Journal book.

Here is a photo of my art journal book with it’s JD plastic protective cover:

Here are the pages that I created yesterday:

I started off applying the background paper with Image result for tim holtz college paste" “Tim Holtz Distress Collage Medium, Matte .” I used a Vera Wang add, it has roses on it, so it’s totally perfect!

I added torn pieces of cardstock from Jane Davenport’s paper pad. Image result for jane davenport paper pad"

I cut Ruby Rose out of a Cosmopolitan Magazine. Image result for cosmo mag ruby rose"  I typed that quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, & cut it into strips.

I also used the following Jane Davenport dies: Muse JDD-002, You are Unique JDD-005, & Happy Little Unicorn JDD-006. On these two pages.

I cut out Ruby Rose from the same Cosmopolitan Magazine article.

I started out with using Jane Davenport’s wahi tape to keep my pages together. They got wet when using Inkredible™ Ink on prior pages. Then I wiped on watered down “spray JD paints,” and splattered on a spray that I made out of JD paints.

To make my JD spray paints I used JD spray bottles and added “liquitex fluid medium,” JD acrylic paint, and water. spray-paints.jpg I sprayed on the red one and did strokes w/ my JD paint brush. Image result for jane davenport paint brush"I then added the metallic bronze JD paint and spritz with water and brush stroked it on.

I used a torn piece of washi sheet called “Washi-Girls.” Image result for jane davenport washi sheets"it’s underneath the little mag page of Ruby Rose on the left side.

I punched out scallop circles from the Jane Davenport’s paper pad. I also used the following Jane Davenport dies: Happy Little Unicorn JDD-006, You are Unique JDD-005, Muse JDD-002, Tadah Girl JDD-001, and Sea Flower JDD-003.

I also did this page yesterday:

This page started off with Violet Ink Image result for jane davenport inkredible ink" Inkredible™ Ink and water. Then added strips of washi tape in the spine to keep it together.  I used some of the “Washi-Girls” wahi sheet on the right side. I then added some more hair to the 2 girl faces, and drew (with the Ultimate waterproof brush pen,)  somewhat of a body to the one on the left side of the right page. I added colors from the “Jane Davenport Palette Pastel-Birthday Suit.” Jane Davenport Palette Pastel-Birthday Suit

The “Rule Breakers” was cut out from the same Cosomo mag article on Ruby Rose. The “Muse” die was cut using dark brown CS then colored in w/ the Pastels from the Birthday Suit collection. The same dies were used on these two pages as listed above.

Inspiration to create is everywhere, would love to know your thoughts on my pages.

Thank you for your visit today, and your comments. If you art journal also leave me your blog addy and I will come and check you out.

Stay Creative, Peace,

Christmas with RG Avenue Stamps

Good morning, I have some Christmas cards to share with you today.

These cards are made using RG AVE stamps.

For this card I used: Sour Guava card stock.

The stamps are digital downloads called: “Cozy Christmas” which is free w/ purchase, for the deer and sentiment. Deer colored w/ Copic Sketch markers. The back panel is “Lumber Jack Plaid.” I colored it with “Tangy Gum,” in PSE10.

This card I made for a challenge on the FB group RG Avenue Community. I was to use non-traditional Christmas colors. So I used neon cardstock, and colored using neon Copic markers. These images are also from the “Cozy Christmas” set. The black cardstock has been embossed using a Stampin’ UP! embossing folder w/ snowflakes.

Here is an altered CD ornament. I used the set called “Winter Rose.”

For this card I sprayed the background using “Minc Reactive Mist,” then used my MINC. and green reactive foil. The sentiment is from the set called “Winter Wonderland.” I also foiled the sentiment in green reactive foil.

This card here is kind of a joke! The sentiment says all I want is you, however she is holding LOTS of packages! The girl is from the set called “Birthday Girl.” I colored it in PSE10 with traditional Christmas colors to make it look Christmasy. I splattered it using “Dazzling Pat.”  Embossing folder from Cuttle Bug.

I won this llama stamp set a few month’s ago and I have been dying to turn it into a Christmas card! So I did! I used the set called “Llamazing.” The gift is from the “Cozy Christmas” set. I typed and printed the FA-LA-LA-LA. Paper from American Crafts. Colored w/ Copics.

I would like to enter this last card into the following challenges:

Artsy Stamper: Challenge #5 – Winter Holidays

Simon Says: Art Journaling

Good evening crafty friends,

I  creates a 2 page spread in my Dylusions Large Art Journal Book. I am entering this into the Simon Says Challenge blog for the Monday Challenge called “Simon Says: Art Journaling.”

I used the following Dylusions stamp sets:

“Bits if This” Ranger Dylusions BITS OF THIS Portrait Skull Cling Bees Collage Rubber Stamps  I used the skull head w/ the hat. I stamped one regularly, and the other head I stamped on a reversing block so “she” would be face the opposite way. The heads where colored with Copic Sketch markers. I also used the bugs on here and stamped them all over.

“Passage of Time” Image result for dylusions stamp time clockwas used for “Her” dress, and her legs are from the set called “Legs.”  I colored this dress with Dylusions Pain Pens.

“Winston & LuLu” Image result for dylusions stamp time clock I used the Winston’s coat & bow tie for “Him,” and a pair of “Legs.” Colored using Dylusions Pain Pens.

“Legs”These were colored using Dylusions Pain Pens.

“Doodle Parts”The swirly thing was stamped using green ink pad onto sticker paper, detailed cut and pasted. I then added some Dylusions “Cut Grass” spray ink watered down and painted over it, so it’s not stark white.

“Mischievous Malcom”Ranger Dyan Reaveley\'s Dylusions Cling Stamp Collections, 8.5 by 7-Inch, Mischievous Malcom This set was used on the right side of the journal book. Malcom’s head was colored with Prismacolor pencils, his outfit  was colored  using Dylusions Pain Pens. The Monster was colored with Copic markers. I added googly eys to it. The tree was painted with watered down Dylusions ink spray in “Melted Chocolate.”

I added stickers from stash that read: Dearly (I wrote Departed) Forbidden, Lovers, & Forever. I took the picture of this AJ page outside in the bright sun, so the foil stickers do not show up in the photo. The “Wool of  Bat” and “Nevermore” are some leftover G-45 paper.

The left side started out as a Gel Press print, just using wavy lines. The right side was also a pull from the Gel Press. I used the Dylusions Large stencil “Keyhole” Image result for large keyhole stencil dylusionsusing Dylusions paints Lemon Zest & Pomegranate Seed.  I didn’t like it too much so I did a wipe off on it. Then I started adding things on top.

“Graphic Background” and “Boarding on the Edge” Bordering on the Edge - Dylusions Rubber Stamp Set by Dyan Reaveley, 6 pieces: borders, swirls, letters, alphabet (DYR34599) - Only One Life Creations these were stamped randomly on top of both sides.

I added googly eyes for fun.

Thank you for stopping by today, hope you like my crazy pages. Thank you for leaving me comments.

Fat Page swap for RG AVE Community FB group

Hello crafty people, today I am going to share with you some Fat Pages. These Fat pages were created for a swap that I host on Facebook called RG AVE Community.

I host a monthly swap, each month we swap different types of paper craft projects.  This swap is our 10th swap, and the theme is “Halloween” and to make 2 Fat Pages.

What is a Fat Page?
Fat Pages are 4 inches by 4 inches created w/ your art work. You can make mini journals/albums with them, use them as inserts into journals etc… It’s in a way like an ATC meaning it’s a little bit smaller than a card. It is just one sided like an ATC. Also like an ATC it has size requirements! A Fat Page is 4″X4″.

I am going to share each person’s Fat Page and their name, links to the stamp sets. The first 2 photos are the 2 that I made.

But here is the thing with RG Avenue stamps…. when you get the non toxic clear stamp you ALSO get the same set in a digital file in the formats of PNG, JPEG, SVG!! I like that because I can bring the SVG files into my cricut and use them as cut files as well as printing onto paper and coloring them.

  1. I used “Halloween Treat.”

To make this Fat Page, I mushed some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks on my WRMK glass mat and layered up RG AVE cardstock, until I liked how it looked. I then stenciled the starts and moon. I glued a piece of cardboard from a cereal box to the back for added security. I wanted it to be sturdy in case the receiver wanted to set it out on display as a Halloween decoration. Because that is what I am doing w/ the 2 that I received from this swap.   I added some raffia for the stray/ hay look. The small bat, cat, witch, and tombstone are sequins. Added a silver spider charm to the tombstone.  I colored my stamps with Copic Sketch markers.

2. “Halloween Treat.”

I used the same stamp as the first one. “Halloween Treat.”  The BG was created using the new HOCUS POCUS stencil that came with the Limited ED stamp set by Tim Holtz and Distress Oxide Inks. The trees were cut with black CS, the die is by Memory Box, called “Grand Forest Archway Die.” I colored the images with Copic Sketch.

This Fat Page here is from Nancy Heidinger:

Nancy also used the stamp set “Halloween Treats.” She used a small piece of washi tape w/ a spider for her spell book. I really do love how this looks like a table and the book is open.

Here is Debbie Daniels Fat Page:

Also using the stamp set “Halloween Treats.” She added some slashing’s of white to represent light from the witches wand.

Here is Rose Curtis’ Fat Page:

Rose has used the stamp set “Frightfully Cute,” for the witch’s hat and flowers. The mug is from the set called “Seasonal Mug.”

Here is Nidhi Jain’s Fat Page:

Nidhi, has used the stamp set “Seasonal Mug.” She added some silly cute eyes to her mug!

Here is Claudia’s Melgar’s Fat Page:

Claudia used the stamp set “Halloween Treat.”  For her background layer she used the stamp set “Hand Written.”

I think these swappers did a great job. What do you think?

Our next swap is Artist Trading Coins. If you would like to join in and swap with us go to the RG Avenue Community FB group and join. I post the swaps on the 15th of each month.

Thank you for stopping by and thank you for your comments.
