Wood Frame , Polkadoodles image! Kit and Clowder retreat!

Hello there crafty friends,

I would like to share with you my project that I started at the “Kit and Clowder” coloring retreat in Orlando FL. The owner of K&C (Alyce Keegan) came to the USA from Australia, and did 2 retreats, one in California and one in Florida. I was so blessed enough to attend the Orlando retreat. Here is one of the projects that we did there.

The only part that I did at the retreat was the priming of the wood. I painted them with Gesso. However, I have finally finished this project, and I am proud of myself for actually finishing something. (That is not a DT project.)

What happened? Why didn’t I finish it there?

Well as you can imagine a bunch of crafty women…. late night chatting, etc…. So my roommate and I over slept the morning that this project was being shown.

I did meet a super sweet lady through this event that lives close to me. (Another blessing.) So I went to Sue Hall’s house and she walked me through fishing it. Sue let me have her “Peace” wood piece, mine came w/ “Faith,” and she also gave me the tiny metal dragonfly charm that is in the center of the filigree wood piece at the top, and the purple rhinestones. The rest of the wood pieces are from Alyce.

I didn’t like the way my original colored image turned out, so I bought the one you see here from “Polkadoodles.” I like this company’s image better anyways. For the back ground of our image Alyce had us use watercolors, however when I redid my insert image I didn’t use watercolors, I used my Copic spray system. I also colored this image with Copics. The name if this image is “Octavia Moonfly Dragonfly” follow the link to get her.

This was really fun to put together, especially with Sue and her letting me use her crafty stuff.

Thank you for stopping by, thank  you for your comments.

Fun Stampers Journey’s Kit of the Month cards for November!

Good afternoon Friends,

I have been playing with “Fun Stampers Journey’s” Kit of the Month cards.

November kotm

FSJ gives you four packets full of embellishments, card stock, everything you need!

Here is my first one:

I almost followed the directions, I like to add my own twist sometimes while making these Kit of the Month cards. I added “Journey Glaze Item #: AD-0002″ and “Journey Sparkle Dust Item #: AC-0013″ to the jar.

My next card:

I personally didn’t want the bow made out of Journey Twine to the right of the card like it is in the photo. So I made a bow and w/ a FSJ glue dot put it in the center of the lid.

I used the “Journey Glaze Item #: AD-0002″ to adhere the sequence that came with the kit.

Then I played around w/ this one:

I do like this one, and I am glad I got to play around with this kit, because for this card you stamp the jar onto the “Journey Basics Item #: PP-0003″ patterned paper but not the lid. then stamp the entire jar stamp onto the White CS and cut around it away from the edges. The yellow paper gets cut close. “The Citrus Cooler Item #: CS-0089″ CS is popped up on pop dots so is the jar.

Here is my last card:

In the kit photo, they have where the main image is sideways a bit. I decided to make it (Some what) straight.  Actually that’s pretty straight for me. 🙂

Now by making these 4 cards I have all kinds of ideas for making other cards using this set. I want to add buttons, some FSJ “Holiday Elements Item #: AC-0116″ for a Christmas card. My buddy Patti, gave me some tiny clay cutters of a Christmas Tree and a Gingerbread Man, I think would be fun to put in the jar. So much more could be in the jar as well.

Here is all 4 cards together:

Here is the stamp set:

This is an 11 piece set! This set could be made to look Christmasy’ or country with “Jams” or just friendly by adding a card to a Mason Jar Gift!

You Wood Do That! Haunted Design House!

Good afternoon Friends,

I wood like to share my “Wood” project with you all. Over at the “Haunted Design House” challenge blog their theme is “Wood.”

So here is my creation:

I covered a curio cabinet with Graphic 45 paper. The lace trim behind the ornament is from Stampin Up!

To make this ornament I used “Crowned Angel Pendant” from A Gilded Life. They are a new company from Spellbinders. I put metallic Rubz, rhinestones from SU, half pearls from Pizazz A Plenty, and Journey Sparkle Glitter. I sealed it with Journey Glaze. I used metallic Rubz on the metal flower behind the Angel. The lace is from stash, that I glued to a circle punch out of cardstock. I used Tim Holtz’ “Vintage Photo” ink on it to Age it.

I used a Martha Stewart clay mold for the owl. I then put on Rubz, Journey Glitter and to seal it I used Journey Glaze.

This is the center of the cabinet. The top Skull Key I received from Lisa Hall, long time ago. The center skull is glass and I received it from Creepy Glowbugg. The bottom one is from Micheal’s it’s a Tim Holtz.  You can see more of the paper here. I used the Halloween stack “Steampunk Spells.”

Left side of cabinet. I do not remember where I got the corner pieces? But the glitter half moon and star was a Jolee’s from Micheal’s.

right-side-hdh-wood-challen  This is the right side of the cabinet.  The gold glitter flourish is a Jolee’s as well.

I bought this ornate scissor charm from “Violet’s Scrapbook” store. I don’t remember on the moon charm?

Here is the finished piece hanging on my wall. You can see my chunky wood Poe ATC up there, and my covered book that I made in Texas with Patti, at a Spellbinders class.

I first sanded down the cabinet, then painted it black. After I Mode Podged the papers on, I used a Stampin’ Up! sander to sand down all of the edges and on the wood to remove and scuff up the wood. Then used Tim Holtz’ “Vintage photo” ink on the edges of the paper and on the scuffed wood. I replaced the handle on the drawer with a knob from Lowe’s.

To the DT’s at HDH, I hope this is not to frilly for ya, and makes you throw-up! 🙂

Challenge #5 Sprite Delight by Aurora Wings stamps!

Good evening Friends,

This morning, before nap time, I created a “Pocket card” for the “Sprite Delight” challenge over at Aurora Wings challenge blog.

The challenge is to use one (Or more) of  Mitzi Sati-Wiuff’s Sprite stamps from her STORE. (Follow the link to go check them all out.)

My card:

The name of my Sprite is “Digital Stamp – Cherry Blossom Sprite 2 – Sakura Fairy Holding a Branch” (Follow the link to get this one.)

The sentiments are from “Create with TLC,” they were Freebies. The water droplets are stickers from Recollections. I colored the image using Copics.

To create the “Pocket card” I first used a die from “Fun Stampers Journey,” the die is called “Pocket card  item #DI-0003

The card stock is also from “Fun Stampers Journey,“called “Blue Lagoon.” item#CS-0004. I used the die twice, the second time using “Whip Cream” item #CS-0040 (To me the name is a little miss-leading, whip cream sounds to me like it would be an off white color. However, in this case Fun Stampers Journey calls their white card stock “Whip Cream” and it is a beautifully smooth white CS.)

Which reminds me… If you are a Copic marker user, and want a less expensive way of getting the perfect card stock for your coloring, then give this white card stock a try. If you are a Copic user, then you know that Neenah, and X-press it paper is very expensive! Well one day I had the Fun Stampers Journey’s “Whip Creamcard stock in front of me and decided to stamp my image, for my ATC swap, and then colored it in with my Copics, and I was amazed that it was so smooth to color on and works just like the X-press It paper.

The tabs on the “Whip Cream” card stock were made using another die from Fun Stampers Journey called “Pennants.” item#DI-0004.

(There is even a matching stamp set for this die called, “Banner Party.” item#SS-0009)

Using the top die I cut the pennants off of it.

So now I can pull out 2 tags with sentiments, or more images, or a message to someone.

So there ya have i,t my Sprite card.

I would like to enter my Pocket card into the following challenges:

Monochromatic Yo from the Leia Collection at Ike’s Art!

Good morning Friends,

I have a card to share with you all, using an Ike’s Art image, from the “Leia Collection.”

Monochromatic-challengeThe Ike’s Art image I used for this Monochromatic card is called “YO.” This is just one of the adorable images from the “Leia Collection”

The 'LEIA' CollectionAll of these images can be found in Ike’s shop click here!

I colored my image with Copics. Then with “Brushable Glue” that I painted on with a paint brush, I added “Neon Flamingo” glitter and “Pretty Princess” glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Neon FlamingoPretty Princess

The back ground DSP is retired Stampin’ Up papers. I used retired “Pleated ribbon” from SU. The card stock is also Stampin’ Up called “” and I used a Spellbinders’ die cut on it.

I created this card as a DT card for Ike’s World Challenges. However the challenge is over in a couple of hours. I honestly thought we were taking a summer break so I never posted this card.

I have spent a month in Texas with a good friend, and I was not on the computer much. I could have posted this from Texas, by having my mom email me the photo, but I did not pay attention; and for that I do apologize to Ike, and everyone else for not posting this sooner. But I do hope you all will pay a visit to Ike’s Art shop and look around she does have some awesome digis.

Here is the link to Ike’s World Challenges.

You not be able to get a card made in time for the challenge #19 “Monochromatic” but go to the challenge blog and check out what the other DTs have created, they really do, do some amazing art work, it’s totally worth your time to just hop on over there for some inspiration, or to just be wow’ed!

I am back home, for now… leaving again July 16th for a week. I have some exciting information coming up very soon. (No I am not pregnant!) So tuned!

Don’t forget about us on Facebook. Ike’s Art Fan Page link is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/IkesArtFanPage/
