Aletha<<<<Birthday Girl!
Good morning, today starts a 2 day blog hop for a very special person, Aletha! Sunday is her Birthday but we wanted to give everyone time to hop to all of the blogs to see the Happy Birthday cards made for Aletha’s Birthday. We have also sent a bouquet of flowers to Aletha’s home, here is a picture of them:
We also sent her a Happy Birthday balloon with them.
Here is the Birthday card I made for Aletha!
I used a digi curtsy of Smeared Ink. The digi set is called “Chicks Dig Guns”  (Follow the link to get yours)
I colored my image with Copic markers. I added Stickles to her dress, shoes, and feather. Added a half pearl on the feather. The black bling I bought on a roll at Micheal’s from Recollections. Ribbon from stash. The black flower, leaf, and green swirl was gifted to me as a SS gift from Lisa. The reason I used the green swirl was, I was imagining it as an extension of the flower and leaf. I hope she likes it. For the inside of the card, in PSE10 I typed “Hope your Birthday is a Bang” on top of the bullet holes, (Also a digi from that set.)
Well there you have it! Happy Birthday Aletha!
We have put on a blog hop, please hop to all of the other bloggers to see what they came up with for Aletha. At the end of the blog roll is a link to Aletha’s blog PLEASE stop by there and wish her a Happy Birthday. She will be so surprised! We have not told her about this yet!!!
Just for hopping today, Tracey  (owner/artist) of The Stamping Boutique has donated a free digi from her store for you! All you have to do is “right click and save as” to your computer! The name of this is “The Fairy Aletha Digital Stamp” Enjoy!  Once this 2 day hop is over she will be gone, but you can always visit TSB’s store for this digi or more!
This digi stamp can be found at The Stamping Boutique’s store.
I made Aletha an ATC, this is her favorite stamp from TSB:
I colored this with Copic markers, I colored her hair with Prismacolor pencils. I printed out 2 of these images then cut out the wings and popped it up with pop dots. Then I sprayed it with “Goosebumps” spray. Goosebumps spray leaves a bumpy, shiny, and sparkly texture. Plus it acts as a sealer. (I just love this stuff.)
Please enjoy your hop, and visit everyone on the list. I have the blog roll posted on my side bar also, just encase you get lost on your way,  you can always come back here to see the list.
If you are not a follower of my blog and you would like to be, my follow button is by email, and it is located right under Aletha’s blog roll! Thank you.
Thank you for stopping by and helping me wish Aletha a wonderful birthday!! Thank you for your comments too!

I am the GIU Girl this week, Day 3!

Good morning Friends, today is day 3 of my GIU week for Unity Stamp Co. And don’t forget that what this means for YOU! if  YOU make a comment on all my GIU posts this week, your name will go into the drawing to win two (2) itty bitty stamps sets from Unity of YOUR choice!! If you want to get a heads start on checking out what the {itty bitty} stamp sets look like, or if you would like to take advantage of the sale that’s going on right now CLICK ME!

So on to my project: I altered a composition book. You know that brown paper you receive in your box as cushion when you order something? Well that is what I used to cover my composition book with. I used “YES” paste to glue the paper down. I used Stampin’ Up’s grosgrain ribbon in Eggplant for a book mark, and glued it down before the paper. Once I had my paper glued down and trimmed, I sanded the edges with a sanding block. Then sponged them with ColorBox ink in Chestnut.

To obtain my back-ground effect, I first stamped {ippity’s} stamp “Dots for Sure” with Summer Starfruit ink pad by SU.  Then I stamped Unity’s stamp “Reversed Punchinella” by Christy Tomlinson designs, using Memento’s ink pad in Rich Cocoa.  Followed by stamping {ippity’s} stamp set “Bloom & Simplify” using Gumball Green ink pad by SU. I stamped my girl with Stampin’ Up’s Basic Brown, wiped the color off of her hair and with SU’s Elegant Eggplant maker colored it back in. I colored her flesh, and outfit with Copic markers. I fussy cut and YES pasted her down. Using the same {ippity} stamp set “Angie Girl: Dream with your Heart,” I stamped the sentiment -dream with your heart- three times in Raspberry Ripple to get my words, cut them out then sponged the edges with ColorBox ink in Chestnut.   I black embossed the image on top of her using {ippity} stamp set “TOTALLY happy.” The sentiment, Not all those who wonder are lost, is from the {ippity} stamp set “Delightful Little Things,” I colored the stamp using SU markers in: Elegant Eggplant, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango, Chili, Garden Green and Pink Passion. The butterflies are from the “how YOU doin'” stamp set, I used SU’s marker Lovely Lila.  I found a free fount on the internet called “Charming.” That is the font I chose for my title and printed it, cut it out and sponged the edges with ColorBox’s ink in Chestnut.

Well there you have it! I hope you like my covered journal! I have decided to keep a journal of my dreams. This has been inspired by reading a few books on Edgar Casey. I recently got home from a three week visit in Virginia Beach. While I was there, I had the pleasure of checking out his A.R.E. place.

Here is a list of the stamp sets that I have used to create my project today:

“Dots for Sure”

Reversed Punchinella

Bloom & Simplify

“Angie Girl: Dream with your Heart”

“TOTALLY happy”

“Delightful Little Thing,”

“how YOU doin'”

Just a reminder, If you have not seen in person any {ippity} or Unity Stamp Co. stamps before, they all come in deeply etched red rubber, pre-cut, and on foam. All you have to do is peal and stick it to your clear block ink and stamp!! These stamps are truly great quality, and will last forever!

I would like to say THANK YOU to Maria Levine for allowing me this great opportunity of being the GIU this week for Unity Stamp Co.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit today, If your not already a follower of my blog and you  would like to be, my follow by e-mail button is on the right side bar under the second picture of my grand-daughter, above the calendar.

Good morning my fellow crafters, I would like to share my DT card with you. GHWI is still having a challenge called “Christmas in July with a Tag!”

Aletha Williams, owner of Get Hippity with {ippity} has very gracelessly provided me with this stamp set that I used. It’s called “Kissmas & Mistletoe”  (Follow the link to get yours.)

I stamped my stamps in Versa Mark then embossed them in Silver Detail embossing powder, then cut them out. The Holly sticker, the gift sticker, and the button brads are from Recollections. Ribbon and tag from stash. The DSP is a packet from Lizzie Anne Designs. I distressed the edges with Colorbox’s calk ink in Chestnut. I used a Fiskars’ scallop boarder punch on a piece of the gray snowflake paper and backed it w/ other DP from the same set and put that behind my tag.

Some {ippity} inspiration for GHWI22 color combo challenge!

Good morning fellow crafters! I would like to share some {ippity} goodness with you today. GHWI22 color combo challenge is still going on, and Im here to inspire you, then you can inspire us and show is your take on the color challenge using only {ippity} or unity stamps. Here are the colors:

I have used {ippity} stamp set “Bloom and Simplify”

I have used {ippity} stamp set “Now and Always

To make this card I first made a collage of stamps. I used 3 of the flowers in the “Now and Always” set, randomly stamped the flowers in Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard, and Calypso Coral. Then from the “Bloom and Simplify”  set I used the words and stamped that with Night of Navy on top of the flowers. I then cut out panels, backed them with black card stock. I used Cuttlebug’s embossing folder Script for the back ground. My card base is Bravo Burgundy card stock. Ribbon from stash, resin rose and rhinestone from SU. I colored the butterfly from the “Now and Always” set with a SU blender pen and a Calypso Coral marker for the wings,  a Night of Navy marker for the head, and a More Mustard marker for the body. I popped up the butterfly w/ an SU pop-dot.

I hope you like today’s inspiration, I hope I have inspired you to create something, if so come and show us at our current color combo challenge. Get Hippity with {ippity} inspiration for challenge # 22 color combo with a twist!

Good morning crafty friends, I am here with an {ippity} card to share with you today. We are now into challenge #22  – Color scheme with the theme of wedding, anniversary, or engagement as an optional twist. Here is the color theme that we are working with for this month:

Today I have combined two different {ippity} stamps.

I have used: “Bloom-Simplify” (Follow the link right to that stamp set to get yours)

I have also used: “Totally Happy”  (Follow the link right to that stamp set to get yours)

Let me tell you real quick about these stamps sets. These stamps are Deeply etched red rubber cling mount stamps that come already cut out with the cushion backing. So all you have to do is pull the paper backing off stick it on your clear block and stamp away! These are high quality stamps! And I just love mixing and matching all of my {ippity} stamps sets together. These are “Unity” endorsed stamps so they go well when pairing with unity stamps also.

You have to use at least two of the colors shown. I have use four colors today on my card.  So here is what I had fun making:

I embossed my flower and added SU half pearls. I also embossed my sentiment. The eyelet and all card stock is from Stampin’ Up. The boarder punch is SU also. The ribbon and trim is from stash. I have bee accused of being “Over the top” in my projects, so to me this card is a bit CAS. However, I think there is probably still too much stuff on here to be really considered CAS. Furthermore, I really like how the flower looks by just being embossed in that burgundy color, and not colored in.

I think this would make a great wedding, anniversary, or engagement card. You could be “Totally happy” for any one of those occasions. (Plus other occasions as well.)

I hope I have inspired you to come play our GHWI Challenge # 22 Color scheme with the theme of wedding, anniversary, or engagement as an optional twist. This challenge will run for a month. And there is an {ippity} stamp set as a prize!

Use the Music stamp I gold embossed it on DP from Basic Grey. Sponged the edges withe TH’s distress ink. I used the tree from What Matters Most as a branch. It was stamped in TH’s distress ink, then colored w/ Prismacolor pencils. I put a small black brad for one of the bird’s eye, and the bigger bird I used a blue jeweled brad. Birds were colored w/ Prismacolor pencils & baby oil. The red Note I made using a melting pot and a silicon mold and red embossing powder. The senti that reads “life is a song.
