Good morning friends,
Did you remember to set your clocks ahead this morning or last night? Time change to spring head! I did, and I made it to church on time as-well.
I have a Luck or St. Patrick’s Day! project to share with you today.
I was contacted by the Marker Pop Blog to be a Guest Designer for their Bi-Weekly blog challenge. Their challenge theme for the next 2 weeks is called “Luck or St. Patrick’s Day! Create a project for St. Patrick’s Day or create a project featuring something Lucky. You can use the Color Green, a Pot of Gold, a Shamrock, Stars etc…” They also offer a visual image:

So for this challenge I created a double layout in my Black Dylusions Art Journal book.

Here is my art journal pages. To create these pages, first I applied Dylusion’s Mixed Media paint in “White Linen,” to both sides using a brayer. I then went back on top of the White Linen while still wet with “Dirty Martini.” This was to give the pages a subtle green hue in the background. I then layered my pages with Dylusion’s Mixed Media paint in “White Linen,“”Dirty Martini,” “Squeezed Orange, and Black Marble.” I applied the paint onto the Dylusion stencils with a “Ranger Tim Holtz Mini Ink Blending Tool – 1″ Round”. I also used the tool to apply black paint onto my Dylusions leaf stamps, and the Tim Holtz rubber stamps,(the butterfly in the top right and the nest in the top left.)

The “Pot of Gold w/ the Rainbow” is a digital stamp from “AI Factory.” (I have just learned they are no longer in business.)
I printed this image onto blending card stock called “X-Press It.” (Follow the link to get yours.) I colored my Rainbow with LOTS of Copic Sketch Markers. For just the rainbow I used:
- R39, R37, R35, R32, R30, R000
- YR09, YR06, YR04, YR12, YR00
- Y17, Y13, Y11, Y000
- YG17, YG13, YG00, G20, G0000
- BG15, B18, B14, B00, B000
- BV04, V09, V06, V05, V01, V0000
- RV19, RV17, RV13, RV02, RV02
I applied Ranger’s Stickles to some of the strips in the rainbow. Crushed Pineapple, Rhubarb, Blue Bayou, Bubble Gum, and Sprinkled Sugar to the cloud.
Shamrock, was applied to the Gorjuss Girl’s dress, that is sliding the the rainbow .
*I was trying for the rusted metal effect on the pot of gold.

The lips stamp is one I’ve had for a long time, the company’s name has been rubbed off.

I also used “X-Press It” card stock to stamp my 3 Gorjuss Girls. I used: Gorjuss Collectable Mini Rubber Stamp – No. 19 Holly. She does have a hat on however, I printed a Leprechaun hat from the web, and replaced her original one. The next Girl I used is, Gorjuss Collectable Mini Rubber Stamp – No. 2 New Heights, I cut her books off that are under her feet. I wanted it to look like the girl is sliding down the rainbow. The third girl is, Gorjuss Collectable Mini Rubber Stamp – No. 16 Puddles Of Love. Below is a photo of 3 of my Gorjuss Girl stamps, follow the links above the get yours.
