Day 4 of my “GIU Girl” week for Unity Stamp Co.

Standard

Good morning Friends,

Today is nice and chilly here it’s 46 F degrees. I had to actually put the heat on get the chill out of the room. 🙂

I know, I know most of you all live up  north and get to play in snow.

House keeping:

Thank you for your visit today, if this is your first time to my blog/ GIU week, then let me inform you how you can win 2 itty bitty stamps from Unity. All you have to do is make a comment each day, at the end of the week I will run the Random.org thingy and a winner will be chosen. The winner gets to pick out 2 itty bitty sets, you will tell me what sets you want and Unity will mail them to you! Cool Right!

Now onto

Day 4: card

Day-4

I have used the itty bitty stamp sets “Live your Art” and “Beautiful Disaster” (Follow the links to get yours.)

The “Beautiful Disaster” stamp was colored in with Galetos, then misted with a water mister. The “Live your Art” stamp was stamped with SU’s ink Cool Caribbean. I used teal staples to staple down the Live your Art words.

I used a Spellbinder die for the circles. One circle is Pool Party CS, and also Whisper White CS.

Behind the image is a strip of card stock that I created by using various stamps from 2 different stamp sets: “Music of my Heart“ and  “Sing a New Song.“ You might remeber post day 2, I told you all how I made the one strip behind the main image? Well this is another strip of that “made” paper. I cut it to the size I wanted then ran it through a paper crimper. Then added some of the pink Galeto to the paper, to tie it all in together.

Behind that, I created some more paper. With Multi-Media grade paper I sprayed “Fire Works” spry ink over a doily, it made a really really cool impression, however it ended up getting covered. I really like the Fire Works brand sprays, because they come out sparkly. The blue and white Baker’s Twin is from Pizzazz-a-Plenty. (When I just wen there to get you the link, I noticed she is having a BOGO sale!)

The 3 embllies are “In Color Boutique Details #130938” from Stampin’ Up!

My main stamp used is “Bloom & Simplify” the artist is Angie Blom for Unity stamp Co. I like Angie Bloom’s style! She has more stamps set for Unity click here to check them all out! I have colored my image with Prismacolor pencils. I stamped the sentiment and image with Chocolate Chip ink, I sponged the edges with Baked Brown Sugar ink from SU.

I created a collage sheet using the music stamp from “Music of my Heart,” 2 stamps from the set “Sing a New Song,” and the strip of words from the “Bloom & Simplify” set. I know I did all that and you can’t really see it, but my strip turned out pretty cool looking I think. The other strip of paper behind the main image is the back side of the polka dotted DSP. I added a clear button and 3 butterfly brads from SU. The burlap is from JoAnn’s Fabrics.

Behind my girl stamp is 2 different size Sizzix dies. Then the strip of Bravo Burgundy was dry embossed using a Cuddle Bug embossing folder from an “Asian” set. I then use a metallic gold Gelato and rubbed it onto the strip, over the raised flowers.

Behind the strip I stamped the stamp called “Dots for Sure.”  I used the same metallic gold Gelato and rubbed it onto the stamp, then with my mister I sprayed water on it and stamped it. The back ground DSP is from DCWV “The Far East Stack.”

GIU week- Winner’s Post!

Standard

Good morning friends,

Hope you all are not too mad at me for being slow on this winner’s post. It’s been totally crazy. As you all know if you read my Friday post we 3 flew from Florida to Virginia Beach, well due to weather conditions at our layover destination we were delayed 2 hours. We didn’t get home until midnight. Saturday was spent running around doing the final touches for Leia’s birthday party. Sunday was the B-day party and by time we got back to the house, I was so tired I fell asleep on the couch. Then Monday (Yesterday) I had all of you all’s names typed up, ran the “Random.org” and was getting ready to post when my G-baby woke up from her nap and…………………..

HIT THE OFF BUTTON ON THE CPU!!!!

Well needless to say I was a bit pissed! I just took a deep breath and picked her up and we went into the play room. I was so beside myself, and needed a walk, so her and I went for a really long walk. I cant get mad at her or say anything because she is just 2 and does not understand that Grandma needs to post. So the point is it’s been crazy. I do apologize for not having this post done on Saturday.

I did remember the persons name that Random.org came up with though.

The winner of my week of being the GIU girl is …..

Kris B.

So Kris B. please e-mail me your full name, address, and your pick of 2 itty bitty stamp sets from Unity, so I can send it to them and you will receive your 2 sets from Unity.

I am the GIU Girl this week, Day 3!

Standard

Good morning Friends, today is day 3 of my GIU week for Unity Stamp Co. And don’t forget that what this means for YOU! if  YOU make a comment on all my GIU posts this week, your name will go into the drawing to win two (2) itty bitty stamps sets from Unity of YOUR choice!! If you want to get a heads start on checking out what the {itty bitty} stamp sets look like, or if you would like to take advantage of the sale that’s going on right now CLICK ME!

So on to my project: I altered a composition book. You know that brown paper you receive in your box as cushion when you order something? Well that is what I used to cover my composition book with. I used “YES” paste to glue the paper down. I used Stampin’ Up’s grosgrain ribbon in Eggplant for a book mark, and glued it down before the paper. Once I had my paper glued down and trimmed, I sanded the edges with a sanding block. Then sponged them with ColorBox ink in Chestnut.

To obtain my back-ground effect, I first stamped {ippity’s} stamp “Dots for Sure” with Summer Starfruit ink pad by SU.  Then I stamped Unity’s stamp “Reversed Punchinella” by Christy Tomlinson designs, using Memento’s ink pad in Rich Cocoa.  Followed by stamping {ippity’s} stamp set “Bloom & Simplify” using Gumball Green ink pad by SU. I stamped my girl with Stampin’ Up’s Basic Brown, wiped the color off of her hair and with SU’s Elegant Eggplant maker colored it back in. I colored her flesh, and outfit with Copic markers. I fussy cut and YES pasted her down. Using the same {ippity} stamp set “Angie Girl: Dream with your Heart,” I stamped the sentiment -dream with your heart- three times in Raspberry Ripple to get my words, cut them out then sponged the edges with ColorBox ink in Chestnut.   I black embossed the image on top of her using {ippity} stamp set “TOTALLY happy.” The sentiment, Not all those who wonder are lost, is from the {ippity} stamp set “Delightful Little Things,” I colored the stamp using SU markers in: Elegant Eggplant, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango, Chili, Garden Green and Pink Passion. The butterflies are from the “how YOU doin'” stamp set, I used SU’s marker Lovely Lila.  I found a free fount on the internet called “Charming.” That is the font I chose for my title and printed it, cut it out and sponged the edges with ColorBox’s ink in Chestnut.

Well there you have it! I hope you like my covered journal! I have decided to keep a journal of my dreams. This has been inspired by reading a few books on Edgar Casey. I recently got home from a three week visit in Virginia Beach. While I was there, I had the pleasure of checking out his A.R.E. place.

Here is a list of the stamp sets that I have used to create my project today:

“Dots for Sure”

Reversed Punchinella

Bloom & Simplify

“Angie Girl: Dream with your Heart”

“TOTALLY happy”

“Delightful Little Thing,”

“how YOU doin'”

Just a reminder, If you have not seen in person any {ippity} or Unity Stamp Co. stamps before, they all come in deeply etched red rubber, pre-cut, and on foam. All you have to do is peal and stick it to your clear block ink and stamp!! These stamps are truly great quality, and will last forever!

I would like to say THANK YOU to Maria Levine for allowing me this great opportunity of being the GIU this week for Unity Stamp Co.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit today, If your not already a follower of my blog and you  would like to be, my follow by e-mail button is on the right side bar under the second picture of my grand-daughter, above the calendar.
