Day 1 of my GIU Girl week for Unity Stamp Co.

Standard

Good morning Friends,

Today starts my week of Unity stamp inspired creations. I hope you will visit me each day this week. Because at the end One Random.org selected person will receive two itty bitty stamp sets from Unity stamp company!! If you want to start looking at the itty bitty stamps click here!

Unity has a “ning” web site it’s full of stamping fun here is the link: http://www.myunityplace.com/ and if you do go and sign up, look me up and “Friend” me!!

Here is my Day 1: card

GIU-girl-day-1I have used the stamp set “Kokeshi Cuties,” created by Samantha Walker for Unity. I have colored her in with Copics. I added a SU tiny pearl in the flower in her hair.

Behind my girl stamp is 2 different size Sizzix dies. Then the strip of Bravo Burgundy was dry embossed using a Cuddle Bug embossing folder from an “Asian” set. I then use a metallic gold Gelato and rubbed it onto the strip, over the raised flowers.

Behind the strip I stamped the stamp called “Dots for Sure.”  I used the same metallic gold Gelato and rubbed it onto the stamp, then with my mister I sprayed water on it and stamped it. The back ground DSP is from DCWV “The Far East Stack.”

Dots for Sure - IPS 129This is the “Dots for Sure” stamp.

Kokeshi CutiesThis is the “Kokeshi Cuties” stamp.

Have a look around Unity’s blog click here!

I hope you enjoyed my card, and that you will spend a week of Unity inspiration and fun!

Thank you for your visit and for your comments! Stay Crafty my Friends!

Peace,

KristyLee

  1. This is an adorable image Kristy! I like the sheen alot. Haven’t used Gelatos so it is interesting to me to see how “you” use them. What have you colored “baby doll” with? The coloring is beautiful. For that matter, what do you color all your images with…you have a knack for sure! xox

    • Samara, thank you for your comment. I have colored my image today with Copics. Underneath the photos of my projects/cards I post on my blog, I will list the name of the stamp and company, then I always say what medium I have colored it with. Because I don’t color with the same medium all the time. Thank you for your sweet comment about my coloring. I am still learning.

  2. I love the layers on your card. I’ve never seen this particular stamp set before. Unity has such variety, don’t they? Great card — can’t wait for the rest of your week!

    • I know right! This is a great set!! Look at all of the FUN stamps that are in it!! I cold spend a week or more just making cards from this one stamp set! OHHHHHHHHH the possibilities with this set!! But I won’t do that to you all I will use a different set each day, lord knows I have enough!

  3. Lovely card and that cute geisha doll is just perfect for a project I have in mind… hum… visiting Unity right now, this might be the new stamp set I’ve been looking for.

  4. Very cute card! I was born with superfair skin and superdark hair, a head full of it jutting straight from my head, and my mom always calls me her china doll because she says I looked like a porcelain doll, so I love this card! ^_^ I keep seeing all the rad stuff one can do with gelatos, I think I need to take the gelato plunge!

  5. Wonderful card! Love the gold gelato accents. I think I need to go out and get the gold gelato! I really need to try stamping with gelatos! Such an adorable image and you’re coloring is fantastic! Congrats on being this weeks GIU gal, can’t wait to see more of your creations!
